About the Festival.

How it started, our values, and passions.

Every Ticket = 2 Meals to Locals in Need via OzHarvest

It all began with a

food truck.

  • Lindsay & Ed moved to the Coffs Coast in 2017. With the dream of owning a food truck, they renovated a vintage caravan and started selling authentic Southern food & American BBQ- the food that Lindsay grew up with in Texas and South Carolina her entire life.

Throughout the food truck journey, Lindsay realised that there was incredible produce on the Coffs Coast. She would spend hours each week driving to different farms to pick up freshly picked vegetables, newly laid eggs, morning-caught seafood, or free-range pork and beef. She noticed one thing over the years - why weren’t other restaurants using local ingredients? She rapidly became passionate about the local food movement.

Around 2020, she noticed a shift. New restaurants in the region were opening, and they had caught on…local ingredients were outstanding. With incredible ingredients, come incredible restaurants. Lindsay wanted more locals and tourists to taste those fresh Coffs Coast ingredients at these restaurants, so combining her passion for events & marketing just made sense. The idea for The Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival was born.

In the midst of COVID - Dave Mansfield of Amplify Events arrived in the region. With experience in high-end events, this duo rapidly formed a partnership to create a festival unlike any the region had seen before.

🌱Sustainability.

OZHARVEST

For every ticket purchased to The Coffs Coast Food & Wine Festival, we donate funds to provide 2 meals to locals in need via our partnership with OzHarvest.

We align with their #fightfoodwaste campaign and aim to raise awareness on the topic of the food waste issue.

OZGREEN

At our Summer Sesh in 2022, we composted all festival food waste with the help of OzGreen.

Our goals for 2023 remain the same - to encourage festival attendees to learn about food waste, composting, the importance of sustainable farming practices and local food.

LOCAL FOOD

Using local ingredients is inherently sustainable. Less mileage and fuel for transport, oftentimes spray-free and regenerative farming practices, and encouraging a sustainable food economy are all tied into the local food movement.
